BEAUGENCY DOES THE DOUBLE! At
Working & Pastoral Breeds of Wales, Ritz wins his first CC at
only 14 months with BOB, beating his mother, Vastie, who won
the Bitch CC. He was selected in the "cut" in the Group (28
breeds), but not placed - pretty good for a baby!

Limit Show
Vastie is Top Briard for 2007, having won
5 CC's, 4 BOB's, Group 2, Group 4 and RCC at Crufts. Multi CH
Pernod is sire of the Top Puppy 2007.
Blackpool Ch Show - Vastie wins her
3rd CC and is now a CHAMPION. She also wins Group 2!
CRUFTS. What a great day for
Beaugency. Vastie wins Post Graduate Bitch and RCC. Well
done to her with 4 week old babies at home.
Ria wins Junior Bitch. Jack wins Post Graduate Dog.
Ixa 2nd in Open Bitch and her brother Toffee (CH/IrCh B.
Bamboozled at Kshan) 2nd
in Open Dog.
Vastie gives birth to 11 babies (4 boys
and 7 girls). All are doing fine for the first day, then we find there
is not enough milk and Vastie has a
retained placenta. I have to hand rear all the babies for the first 3
weeks. Vastie helps out as much as she can, but we both need more
sleep!
Vastie is scanned and looks to have 9 or
10 babies due on 4 or 5 February. We keep fingers crossed that all
goes well.
Vastie has been mated to our lovely boy
Pernod. We are keeping fingers crossed for lovely puppies early
February.
Vastie is placed 2nd in Post Graduate
bitch. Ria wins Best Junior, Bitch CC, Best Opposite Sex and
Reserve Best in Show at the Briard Club Ch. Show. We are
absolutely delighted, especially as she is so young. What a wonderful day.
Ria continues her winning ways at the
French Nationale d'Elevage. She is graded Excellent by M.
Jacoulot, and is later placed 1st Junior Fawn Bitch and then BEST
JUNIOR IN SHOW! We are very proud and happy for both her and the
memory of her lovely daddy Matt - a fitting tribute to him.
Ria has a wonderful day at Richmond Ch
Show. Her daddy is obviously looking down on her. She wins
Best Puppy and the Bitch Res. CC!! Also 5th in a
large Puppy Bitch Stakes class.
MATT had faught bravely for the
previous 18 months against liver cancer. We had enjoyed his company
for a year longer than we should have. But it still hits hard when the
time finally comes to say goodbye. A most loving, gently boy - his
bearhugs and kisses are greatly missed. He used to kiss his baby girl
Ria every morning - she will miss him loads. A very very sad day for
Beaugency and all too soon at only 8 years of age. Sleep tight Matt, a
very special boy

Birmingham National Show! Ixa wins her first CC and her
brother Toffee wins the Dog CC & BOB. Ria wins

At WELKS, Ria wins Best Puppy
at her very first show.
A very sad day. We had to say goodbye
to our faithful boy Baccas (CH. B. BACCARAT). He
had been so brave for the previous 3 years, adapting and coping
magnificently. This was the only day he actually showed signs of
having great pain. That we could not have. I just
can't imagine the house without him - it is just not the same. A great
friend to us and all our mob here - he is greatly missed by all. A great all
round dog and very special. He died in my arms having just wagged his tail
for the last time.
CRUFTS. Vastie wins Post Graduate Bitch class. Ixa
2nd Limit Bitch, and Pernod 4th Open Dog. This is his last ever
show. He is now retired from the show ring.
Benedict dies aged only 4. A
sudden, extremely vigorous cancer takes him within only 10 days.

Vastie has just one little girl, and
Ixa has 6 bouncing babies. All doing well.
Richmond Ch Show - Ixa wins her class,
but we were overjoyed when B. Benedict (Murphy) won Limit Dog, then
the CC and then BOB. Not only that, but he went on to
get to the last 6 in the Group! A great achievement for a Briard.
Well done to him and his owners Fiona and Paul. Many thanks to
the judge Marilyn Scrutton and Group Judge, Stuart Mallard. A
wonderful day for his owners.
Ixa too is in season and at the age of 4 it is time she had her first
litter. So a trip over to France for a mating with the lovely fawn boy
Scapin du Vieux Dieu et de l'Allouette. We are hopeful for some
lovely puppies. Watch this space.

Vastie has been mated to our boy Matt (Ch B.Barzac). We are
keeping all our fingers crossed that she will be pregnant, as we think this
a lovely combination. Watch for news on our puppies page.
Bournemouth Ch Show - Ixa wins another 2nd in Limit Bitch. We
are so happy today, as our Multi Ch Pernod is back home with us from
Denmark. Bodil and Jorgen have looked after him so well, thank you.
He is looking beautiful and is happy to be back with us. I think he
might miss a little puli girlfriend, but Ixa is making up for it.
Leeds Ch Show - Ch B. Bamboozled wins the RCC, B. Benedict,
his brother wins Limit Dog, Ixa wins Limit Bitch and Vastie
wins Post Graduate Bitch. What a wonderful day - congratulations to
all.

We are all sad to be moving back to England after almost 8 years in France.
We have had a great time, but look forward to being back with our English
Briard friends.

Pernod wins his 3rd consecutive CAC at Leeuwarden to become a Dutch Ch.
Vastie Blonde de la Tour St. Genin has joined the
family. She is really sweet and fits in beautifully with the rest of
the dogs.
